How Pokies Work at Smokos Casino

Pokies at Smokos Casino sit inside our dedicated Pokies category, built alongside Exclusive picks curated from three studios: Hacksaw Gaming, BGaming and Pragmatic Play. Each reel set runs on a random number generator that decides every spin independently, which is why no machine can be "due" for a result — every outcome is its own isolated event.

RTP and Volatility, Explained

Return to player (RTP) describes the theoretical percentage a pokie pays back over a large number of spins, while volatility describes how that payback is distributed — low-volatility titles tend to drip out smaller wins more often, high-volatility titles hold back for bigger, rarer hits. We do not publish a single blanket RTP or volatility figure across our library, since each title sets its own in its paytable, which is the figure worth checking before you commit a session bankroll.

Because the three studios behind our pokies cover different design philosophies, the floor itself spans a mix of pacing styles rather than one fixed rhythm, letting a session lean toward steadier small wins or toward longer dry spells chasing a bigger hit.

Providers Behind the Reels

Hacksaw Gaming is generally known for bold, high-volatility pokie design with striking visual themes, and its titles make up part of our Exclusive picks selection. BGaming brings a more modern, streamlined mechanic to its slots, often favoured by players who prefer crypto-friendly cashier flows. Pragmatic Play rounds out the lineup with a broad, frequently refreshed portfolio, which keeps new mechanics and themes rotating through the Pokies category on a regular basis.

Together these three studios give our pokies floor its structure: Hacksaw Gaming for bigger swings, BGaming for a cleaner, contemporary feel, and Pragmatic Play for sheer breadth of choice. We keep the category organised so a player chasing a specific studio's mechanics, rather than a specific theme, can filter straight to it from our casino section.

Any welcome-related spins or deposit matches that apply to pokie play are detailed separately on our bonuses page, including the wagering conditions attached to them.

Pokie Providers at a Glance

The table below sets out what each studio behind our pokies floor is generally recognised for, so you can choose a session by mechanic rather than by theme alone.

Picking a provider first narrows the field before you dig into an individual title's own RTP and volatility figures in its paytable.
